This portion of the web site was developed as a tribute to the place where I grew up and to the parents that raised me. Both were from Poweshiek County, born, raised, lived their lives and died in one place . They moved to the Ewart house Cottage Hill in January 1946 when I was just 7 months old. This is not meant to be a documentary; some of it may not even be accurate in that the stories have become legend. This site compiled information from those that lived in this community along with some historical data from the Iowa archives. It is for those that are interested in this little spot on God's green earth that I called home, Ewart, Iowa.
