About the Teacher

 

 

 

Mary Lou Iverson is a highly regarded pianist, a frequent performer, and piano pedagogue in Apple Valley, Minnesota. She has adjudicated piano events such as MMTA state solo competition, ensemble festival, and American Federation Festival. Studio Management, Music Theory, Technology and the Music Studio, and Students with Disabilities are presentation topics provided to music teacher groups.  As writer for Keyboard Companion, she described the process of website development for an independent music studio.

She has published  Music History in the Making, a student journal that provides goal setting and positive reinforcement, and is one of three developers of Time$ig, premiere studio management software system for international use.

She is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, charter member and past president of South Suburban Music Teachers Association, Minnesota Music Teachers Association affiliated with Music Teachers National Association. Mary Lou successfully combined the two parallel careers of professional nursing and music educator, making the focus of music education and performance goal directed and positive.

Hobbies include standard poodles, Therapy Dog International, swimming, and genealogy.
