Events

The life of a studio is evidenced in the events! They are, but not limited to: Auditions, Guild, Competitions, Ensemble Festivals, Solo Performance, Recitals, Composition, Master Classes, Community Service.

Enter data in the Event section by doing a right click in the window. A pop-up choice menu offers "Add, Edit, or Delete." Select "Add." Fill in the appropriate data. Please note that students are assigned to an event in similar fashion of doing a right click in the student area. Fill in the data relating to the event as it pertains to the student. Some features of the student data section for the event include:

  • Selections to be performed (can be multiple)

  • Level of difficulty

  • Performing time, critical to many competitions.& festivals.

  • Notes: this could be a competition decision, such as "Superior"

  • Location of Event

  • Room number assignment

There is a cost allowance for events;  remember to enter the amount of money charged for the event. When a student is assigned an event, TS5 will automatically add the charge to the account. This shows up in the Studio Transactions window and eventually in the statement.

Note: Events must be "active" to be used. This "active" feature notifies TS5 that the event is currently underway. Events that are not marked with the check for "active" are considered "inactive" and are retired.   Make a new entry for each new event.  When the Event is completed, simply make it INACTIVE by un-checking the box.

In large studios, there may be several students, each with different teachers, in the same Event. TS5 will schedule and develop reports accordingly.

All of the Event data may be viewed and/or printed using the Event Report section. This is particularly helpful on Event day to have this report; at a glance, the teacher knows what student is performing, time allowance, and can also depend on her records for historical purposes.

Note:  t is this section that will allow TS5 to be used to schedule events such as Festivals, contests, auditions.  Any group activity of the music teacher can be scheduled with TS5.  The "teachers" will be the "judges,"  students are still students, rooms are still rooms, and so forth.

Proceed to Studio Schedule.
